Menzies (Ming) Campbell

South East Cornwall MP Colin Breed declared his support for Sir Menzies Campbell as the next leader of the Liberal Democrats during a visit to the Eden Project.

Sir Menzies launched his nationwide leadership campaign tour with a speech on the Environment, saying that "The old politics was about tax and spend; the new politics is about the interdependence of our world. The quality of life for us and our children and grandchildren depends on how we face up now to the critical environmental issues."

After hearing the speech, Colin announced that he would be voting for Sir Menzies in the forthcoming leadership contest.

Colin commented:

"I was delighted to hear Ming's speech on the environment. It showed that he is really serious about holding the government to account - this will be a welcome contrast to the David Cameron style of 'Leadership by soundbite'.

"There is a wealth of young talent in our current Lib Dem MPs, Ming's experience makes him the ideal candidate to draw together these gifted young politicians and turn them into a credible government-in-waiting"
