Publication of MPs' Allowances

8.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 18th Jun 2009

The Members Estimate Committee has decided that printed documents and receipts relating to MPs' ACA, IEP and Communications Allowance claims dating back to 2004/05 and up to 2007/08, together with details of stationery and postage costs covering the same period, will be published this morning. Full details of Colin's expense claims for that period can be found at www.parliament.uk.

Commenting, Colin Breed said,

"I have always supported the view that all expenditure met by the taxpayer should be disclosed and I voted for change last year. Whilst the Rules have been loose I have always tried to operate within them and by the spirit in which they should be observed.

I have been perfectly happy for all my claims to be published and as will be noted, I have been among the lowest claimers within Parliament, despite my Constituency being over 200 miles from Westminster."
